Make your choice: wall-hung charger or stand charger?

There is a fantastic range of electric vehicle charge points for you to choose from.

As OZEV-approved installers, we have carefully selected several wall-hung and stand chargers as shown below.

When should you choose a wall-hung charger for your business premises?

1. Cost

Generally speaking, wall-hung chargers are more cost-effective because they require less labour. No groundwork (or at least a lot less!) is required for wall-hung chargers such as the Easee Wall-Mounted Charger 7kW. For example, the Hypervolt 7kW charger does not require an earth rod upon installation.

2. Aesthetics

Wall-hung chargers such as the Hypervolt 7kW charger are sleek, with a minimal design. Many providers also offer different colours to suit the aesthetics of your business premises.

3. Space

EO Mini Pro chargers are amongst the smallest in the world and are popular amongst our customers. If you are short on space, wall-hung chargers might be the best option for you.

When should you choose a stand charger for your business premises?

1. Power

For charging your entire fleet of cars, vans, or larger commercial vehicles, stand chargers might be preferable. Stand chargers are generally more powerful than wall-hung chargers. For example, look at this huge 300kW Hypercharger by Alpitronic that we saw at the London EV this year:

2. Public Charging

If you are looking for a way to add revenue to your business while also charging your fleet, stand chargers are the way to go. The Garo LS4 charging station offers RFID identification, DC fault monitoring and SMART LS4 which communicates via 3G or LAN.

3. DC Charging

You will find a much larger range of stand chargers with DC Charging than you would with wall-hung chargers. This may change over the coming years!
