To meet the government’s goals of being net zero by 2050, the switch from fossil fuel-powered cars to EVs needs to happen quickly. Forty percent of people asked in a report said one of the main reasons stopping people making the switch is the lack of charging infrastructure across the UK, especially in rural areas.[1] This problem can be solved by EV drivers having chargers installed at home and at work.
Not only can you install an EV charger at work, but the government offers grants through the Workplace Charging Scheme to businesses, public section offices and charities. Charities, B&Bs, campsites, apartment buildings and SMEs may be eligible for support from the government to make the switch.
